Our client is  currently hiring for an experienced individual to oversee the processing of payrolls, CIS returns, improve process and manage a payroll assistant, with accounts practice experience.


  • Oversee processing of all payrolls within relevant deadlines, including timely RTI submissions to HMRC – weekly, 4-weekly, monthly and annual payrolls
  • Preparation and submission of CIS returns and EPS’ for CIS suffered on a monthly basis, along with reconciliation of amounts due to HMRC
  • Implement and improve payroll processes, staying up to date with best practices, payroll developments, and legal obligations
  • Process relevant documents for starters and leavers, and year end
  • Ensure compliance with Auto Enrolment Regulations and understand company pension processes
  • Manage workload independently and oversee workflow of payroll assistant
  • Resolve payroll and pension queries from managers and clients
  • Collaborate with the accounts team, providing timely information for accounts production
  • Work in alignment with the company’s core values

Key qualifications & experience

  • Proven payroll experience within a practice is essential for this role
  • Experience of working within a similar role within an Accountant Practice
  • Be personable, able to interact and work with all levels in the company
  • IT literate, including strong Excel and database skills, Outlook and Word
  • Experience with Xero systems is massively advantageous
  • Knowledge of all PAYE processes and documentation including P11d and end of year procedures and RTI
  • Knowledge of Pension Regulations and associated reporting and compliance
  • Proven experiences of working well in a team – handover periods etc

Salary  – 35-38K
